I was able to do some cleaning of the HTML code by first using a validator at http://www.w3.org/ I was shocked, yes shocked, that there were more than 500 errors. I guess it was more surprising to me that the blog was working!
Then I used http://valet.htmlhelp.com/tidy/ to fix many of the errors. It is nice that my blog no longer says "done, but with errors" at the bottom of the page. There is more work on the code, but I am thrilled with this much progress this quickly.
Next, I was able to post a new archive calender. I am still working on it. The margins need to be changed to accommodate seven days of the week. Only six days are visible at this time.
Also, I was able to include a "label cloud" whereby you can click a label and all related posts will come up.
I am finding it easier to change color codes, and that is fun.
All in all, I think this was a lot of work. I can't believe how much time goes by when I am working things out on the computer. Frequently, when I look at the clock, another hour or two or three have gone by!
