Pretty In Pink

Pink has always been a color that I like especially in my bedroom. I am hoping to do some rearranging in my bedroom before too long. I have quite a few favorites that are already in my room but I want to "change it about".

This is a hat that I decorated way back in the early 90's. In the past I enjoyed doing a lot of different crafty things. Actually, I made several different styles of spring hats for my guests when I served an Afternoon Tea. I don't have the photos handy to share with you of all the ladies sitting around with their tea cups and pretty hats. It was a lot of fun. And, the tea sandwiches and deserts were fun to prepare and tasted Oh so good!

I have always liked hummingbirds and in the past many friends gifted me with hummingbird themed items. I had quite a collection.

This is a sweet little hummingbird music box given to me by a co-worker years ago.

Isn't SHE stunning? She makes a lovely wall accent piece. A little Foo-Foo, ya think?

And, I use this as a ring and jewelry holder.

I just had to take the time to put together a post that brings me a little joy and prettiness and reminders of lovely days gone by.

Life has been so hectic lately. Perhaps, a little update is in order.

Lily, my precious doggie is doing OK. Her medical situation seems to be stabilized with her medications.

My friend is quite sick. The blood work is still abnormal and he is just coasting along with many medical appointments with specialists such as Cardiologists, Gastroenterologists, Hematologists and Oncologists. I think you get the picture. His son is directing his activities as much as can be done.

And Me. I will be on my way to San Francisco on Friday for a medical consultation with a specialist that I have been waiting to see for a very long time. One thing about living in the mountains is that we have to travel quite a distance for speciality medical care. I will be staying with my daughter in the San Jose area for one night to make the trip a little easier for me. And, my doggie will be going with me!

I probably will not be blogging again until next week.

Ya All, Take Care.

Let's Make Some Virtual Snowflakes

Try it!   It takes a little time to know what you are doing with the little animated scissors but once you "get it" take caution  ~  because it can become addictive! This snowflake making technique has big advantages in that you don't have to clean up all the snippets of paper.

I came across this little "time waster"  http://snowflakes.barkleyus.com/  in blogland and thought you might like to spend some of your time doing this instead of sticking with your organized schedule of  Christmas preparation! Have a little fun.

I hope your day is productive ~ HA HA!

Coming Right Along

Aren't they pretty? I think I will be able to finish four of these little trio dishcloth packs by the end of the week along with some other projects for the Harvest Festival. Knitting dishcloths is so fun when you can pick it up at any time and knit a few rows without much thinking. I have been using the same stitch pattern for all of them because it is easier for me that way. The event isn't until October 23 but the committee would like to have the Silent Auction items by the end of this weekend.

NO!   It isn't Christmas, but it almost feels like it. Yesterday I received "a gift" of a cortisone shot in my right shoulder. And---------- Last night was the first night of sleep I have had in a long time without being awakened frequently with pain in my arm. What a Blessing.  I have had many cortisone shots throughout my life, so I understand the different responses that I may have. However, I am just so thankful for any relief that I may have at this time.

I will be having an MRI as soon as it can be scheduled and that will give me some more information about what to do to put all of this right arm/shoulder pain behind me. I do NOT plan to have surgery. Two years ago I had a rotator cuff tear in my left shoulder and was scheduled for surgery. Because, I did not feel emotionally able to go through with the procedure at the time, I cancelled it and eventually it healed itself.

If you follow my blog, you know as well as I do that I do far too much physical stuff for this little seventy-one year old body without a great deal of suffering from the physical stress that I place on my joints and muscles. I really need to find a happy medium that I can learn to be comfortable with and live with. Otherwise, the "universe" might take care of it for me.  My options are not very great, so I think that I had better "LISTEN UP".

I hope you are having a Fabulous Day.

Something For The Little Ones

This was really fun to make from felt.  You can find the pattern at http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/12/18/felt-crayon-holder/.  I plan on making at least one more to add to all the craft projects that I am making for the Harvest Festival.

I hope you are having as much fun as I am today.

Dishcloths - Greeting Cards - and More

I think I am progressing along nicely with my craft projects. Here are a few more of the items I am currently working on. There is no question about it, I work best with a little pressure from deadlines! These dishcloths will be a trio with the third cloth in a simple white color. And, I will tie them with a pretty ribbon. Stay tuned!

I thought a quick project would be to make some blank greeting cards with photos of flowers from the garden. I just used the computer/printer and a few craft items that I have filling up boxes in my garage. Yes, I have boxes of craft supplies and I no longer know what is stored in them. It is a lot of fun going through the boxes. It is kind of like going shopping in my garage. It feels good to get back to a variety of crafting projects. The cards are turning out nicely.

And, I am putting some ribbon on a baby blanket that I finished knitting a long time ago. I think yellow and blue is a great combination for a baby blanket.

And, of course, I had to show off another pink rose from the garden.

I wish you a Wonderful Weekend.

All Is Well - Kinda

Life can get so complicated at times. Perhaps I could replace the word complicated with busy, challenging, unpredictable - - - you get the idea.  I continue to improve from my accident each day, but not fully recovered.  Now when I can't remember something or spell correctly or forget someones name, I just say "It's the head injury"!  I don't think I will be able to use that excuse much longer and that is a good thing.

Now, back to the title of this post. Unfortunately, yesterday, Hans, My Special Man's Schnauzer started having some weakness in his back legs. And, then last night at my house the dog had a full seizure. Oh, so very sad!  His whole behavior pattern changed afterwards with signs of confusion and bewilderment. It was Friday night after office hours for veterinary offices and his vet does not take emergency calls. Living in the country can present challenges that "city folk" don't experience. Every emergency referral for care was far out of the community. And, most regular veterinary offices are closed on Saturday. So, today MSM is working on finding a vet that can assess the situation and prescribe some medication if need.

We were planning on driving out, further in the country, to his daughter's house today in the afternoon because she is having a large Boutique of craft items. I hope I do not miss the opportunity to see all the fun things and visit with them. That's it for now.

I hope you have a Great Weekend.

I Am Making Cards

And - - - I have a helper. I think a lot of crafting bloggers are familiar with the little Pointy Kitty. She was very popular with crafters a few years ago.

The pattern was graciously shared by Hillary Lang at http://weewonderfuls.typepad.com/wee_wonderfuls/downloads/Pointy-Kitty-Pattern.pdf

These cards are a lot of fun to make and could not be much easier. One of my friends did not know that I made the one I sent to her. She thought that I bought it. That was a nice compliment! As you can see I have just printed out some of the photos that I have posted on the blog.

And plain white cards and envelops are the only other items that you need. Oh, also I used little double-sided adhesive squares to adhere the photos to the cards. Yes, very easy.

It is not length of life, but depth of life.

HAVE A GRAND DAY, it's nice and comfortable here compared to days past.
